Cover Supervisor

Developing the skills and abilities needed to move seamlessly between other people’s classes is no mean feat. You have to command respect from students you don’t teach regularly and effectively manage lessons to as high a standard as their regular class teachers. To support you in this, we’ve developed a series of courses which will support you in the areas you say you need it most.

Your number one priority is likely to be behaviour management – on our behaviour management course, aimed specifically at cover supervisors, you will learn about a range of tools and techniques you can put into practice back at school to prevent and manage disruptive behaviour.

You’ll also find our classroom management course a good way to develop sustainable cover skills. The focus is on developing flexible skills and strategies which will enable you to maximise the opportunities for learning no matter what class you are faced with.

If there are subjects where you feel out of your comfort zone then we have a series of courses aimed at non-specialists  such as ‘Geography: A Guide for Non-Specialists ‘ that will help get you up to speed.
